Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Young Supes
The best things about this DVD are the behind the scenes extras and getting to see Clark join the Legion. That's about it. The rest is just run-of-the-mill Saturday morning cartoons.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Original Legionnaire
I began collecting Adventure Comics in the 1960's. I managed to get all 81 issues in which the Legion appeared. I loved those guys. They are still my favorite comic book characters. I am glad to see them back in a cartoon format. Yes, their uniforms have changed quite a bit. I like their new symbols (the message board). Their names and powers are the same. It is interesting to see some of the original 1960's stories repeated in the new cartoons. Yet, there are some new twists to the characters too. Nice. Fun.

I am still waiting to see, for the first time, several Legionnaires. That includes Element Lad, Karate Kid, Invisible Kid, Mon-el, Princess Projectra, Shadow Lass and Star Boy.

I am so glad the cartoon is on. I can never get enough of the LSH.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Wonderful Program/ Terrible Deal
As a DCAU aficionado and collector of animation, I awaited the official release of the Legion of Superheroes with great interest. The program, for those who have yet to experience it, is very well crafted under James Tucker's production. It comes off as a slightly brighter, futurist mini-Justice League with loads of interesting character development. The young and inexperienced Superman brings a level of relate-ability to the formula and the show's writers brilliantly use his character as the catalyst to the viewer's awe of the future.

The biggest flaw in this set comes from Warner themselves. Rather than release a full season, Volume 1 consists of only 4 episodes on a single disc. For $12 this really takes advantage of a great show and turns it into a moneymaking scheme. Volume 2 is already available for pre-order for around the same price and once again contains only 4 episodes. At this rate, the consumer is expected to purchase 3 volumes (which is close to $40) for one season! Come on, WB, that's just wrong.

I should mention however, that Volume 1 does include a nice little bonus feature called "We Are Legion" that includes interviews with the shows writers and production team. It's quite an interesting little segment.

As it stands, I give the show 5 stars, this set however is a 1 star deal.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - wanted to buy it but refuse to be ripped off!!!
In Warner's cynical attempt to get parents' money, they lost a sale to me and countless others! Wow 4 whole episodes! Don't buy this disc! Make Warner's understand that this practice is unacceptable. Fire the executives that made this decision. There are countless other shows that I can and will spend my hard-earned money on. Complete seasons only! The same goes for those Spider-Man toons from BUENA VISTA (Disney). RIP OFF!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - My son loves this DVD
My son is 4 years old and loves this DVD. He has all the McDonald's Happy Meal toys which was put out a couple of months ago. He sits and watches this DVD and plays with those figures all the time. Maybe as an older viewer this is a corny cartoon but kids love it. All DVDs can't appeal to all ages...not sure why so many bad reviews.
