Premiere Elements 8, Not Bad for the needs of an average FAMILY .........
BUT ............If you're using an AVCHD camcorder I wouldn't buy this item, try something else like Sony Vegas that is known to be compatible with the AVCHD format.

Crashes constantly - Do not buy! This is the Toyota of software. I bought this package because of my satisfaction with Elements 5. I thought this would be a nice upgrade to Elements 8 plus I am starting to make videos and needed a good entry-level video editing software. I read prior reviews and did not head the warning of how bad this program crashes. It also crashes Windows Media Center Receiver, which is how I record TV shows. It also crashed MS Movie Maker. I used version 1.0 of this product for many years and loved it. Due to the building of a new computer with Windows 7 I decided to try out the latest and greatest of version 8. Oh how I wish for the days of version 1.0. I think the product has gotten worse in all aspects (user interface, performance, and functionality).
I can live with Photoshop Elements 8 and would give this 3 stars if I were rating it on its own. However, Premiere Elements 8 is so bad that it would bring this review down ... Read More
