Product Description: Players dig and sift in search of cards that complete pictures of ancient Egyptian treasures. Certain cards with special powers can transform the pictures, and antiques can suddenly jump from one player to another. Excitement builds to the very last turn! The player with the most points wins. Includes 45 cards, Egyptian treasures guide, rules of play.
Editorial Review: In Mummy Rummy, players dig and sift for Egyptian treasures like artifacts from the tomb of Tutankhamun. As in gin rummy, the object is to form sets of like cards, but the fun of Mummy Rummy is that each card shows a portion of an artifact, so the three-card sets--in black or white groups within five color suits--combine to depict ancient Egyptian treasures (including mummies, of course). A descriptive guide accompanying the 45-card deck shows the 25 possible artifacts and identifies each of the treasures, including cat mummies, coffin lids, and a painted, earthenware canopic jar containing a mummified liver, circa 2000 B.C. This game is an excellent introduction to gin rummy, and children will appreciate the complexity of matching parts of pictures to form a whole image. Players will also enjoy the game's clever mimicking of an archaeological expedition with the dig (draw) and sift (discard) piles. Mummy Rummy is the winner of a Parents' Choice Award and a National Parenting Publications Honors Award.

Got this for a family with a young boy. They like it but aren't as enthused about it as they were with Loot. Play Loot all the time. Seems a little complicated.

This is a wonderful game. It did take me awhile to learn but I just needed to focus and really read the directions then off I went. It wasn't so hard after all! I use this game in school with students when teaching a unit on Ancient Egypt. Seems everybody loves Ancient Egypt with its gold and mummies. This game is fun and it helps students look a bit more at Ancient Egyptian art and objects.

This is an unsual and fun game that my kids love. It ranges from challenging to pretty difficult, so it's fun to play with them as well. We'd definitely recommend it, especially if you have bright kids who are easily bored by the typical games.

My sons have loved this game from ages 5 - 10, and it's still interesting for me after several years. The cards and box have held up very well, and the pictures are high quality.
