Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
This 1961 album was Sinatra's first release for his own label, Reprise. Not coincidentally, there's an obvious air of exultation running throughout the entire record. Sinatra is in impeccable voice as he swaggers through Johnny Mandel's arrangements with confidence to spare, delivering unforgettable versions of "A Foggy Day," "When I Take My Sugar to Tea," "Let's Face the Music and Dance" and "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm." This is prime "Rat Pack"-era Sinatra, as rakish as the tilt of his hat on the album's cover. Sadly, too few of his subsequent Reprise releases managed to measure up to the standard set by this album. --Dan Epstein

Album Description:
Out of print in the U.S.! Ring-a-Ding-Ding was Sinatra's first release for his own label, Reprise, and originally released in 1961. After his successful stint with Capitol Records, Sinatra was on top of the world. Recorded during the Rat Pack's prime, Ring-A-Ding-Ding personifies what Franks was all about during this period of his life: confident and in full possession of the greatest voice in Pop. 12 tracks including 'A Foggy Day', 'When I Take My Sugar To Tea' and 'Let's Face The Music And Dance'.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Ring a ding ding
Nicely done work by Frank with the usual club atmosphere flare. Good, clean recordings with strong band background support.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Sinatra's only meeting with Johnny Mandel
In his premiere recording for his own label, Reprise, the Chairman of the Board scored a direct hit. From the swinging title tune to end, Sinatra swings as well with Johnny Mandel's arrangements as he did with Riddle's. In fact I'm surprised that they didn't follow with more albums together since in a way, Mandel's charts are jazzier than Riddle's. My pick of the tracks here would be Porter's "In the Still of the Night" but Frank also reprises "A Foggy Day" which bears a nice comparison to the Riddle ... Read More

I've always liked this album since I first heard it in the sixties. This particular version has been digitally re-mastered, but badly. The horns have a very harsh and narrow kind of sound, which ruins the whole thing for me. I would recommed an earlier CD version, or the vinyl, if you can find a clean copy.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Frank sold these songs without even trying--he was THAT good !!!
Ring-a-Ding Ding! is yet another fine album from The Chairman Of The Board, Mr. Frank Sinatra. This is, as you may already know, Frank's first record for his own label called Reprise Records; and he certainly is in excellent form throughout! The quality of the sound is excellent and the artwork is great! This is sure to be a great CD for any Frank Sinatra fan.

The album begins with the title song, "Ring-A-Ding-Ding." Frank sounds absolutely upbeat and even joyous on this tune; and he delivers ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One Of Frank's Best Albums.
This sophomore effort for his own Reprise label is undoubtedly one of the all time masterpieces recorded by Frank Sinatra. There is not a single track on "Ring-A Ding Ding" that does not capture The Chairman Of The Board at the peak of his powers. From the exhuberant title track to the definitive rendition of "A Foggy Day" to the soaring "In The Still Of The Night" to the sizzling "The Coffee Song" to the fiery "You And The Night And The Music", every song on this album features Frank's widely praised phrasing ...
