Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
This Western has become a modest cult favorite since its release in 1993, when the film was met with mixed reviews but the performances of Kurt Russell (as Wyatt Earp) and especially Val Kilmer, for his memorably eccentric performance as the dying gunslinger Doc Holliday, garnered high praise. The movie opens with Wyatt Earp trying to put his violent past behind him, living happily in Tombstone with his brothers and the woman (Dana Delany) who puts his soul at ease. But a murderous gang called the Cowboys has burst on the scene, and Earp can't keep his gun belt off any longer. The plot sounds routine, and in many ways it is, but Western buffs won't mind a bit thanks to a fine cast and some well-handled action on the part of Rambo director George P. Cosmatos, who has yet to make a better film than this. --Jeff Shannon

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Anyone who likes a western will enjoy this movie/ Trivia details on the filming of Tombstone
Val Kilmer won critical acclaim for his version of Doc Holliday..
he looks pale and thin & since the original Doc was very ill
it enhanced Kilmer's performance..
Kilmer's well delivered quick witted jabs were masterful.

Kurt Russell as Wyatt held his own and I believe this
to be one of his better roles. Bill Paxton and Sam Elliott
also very good in this film.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - a great movie!
What a great movie! I've always been a fan and finally spent the money to get a copy for myself so I can watch anytime!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Tombstone
Ordered this movie for a friend, whose son recommended it to her. It's great for fans of Westerns. Nicely filmed, appealing actors, and it had Charlton Heston who could have read the phone book and been great. Val Kilmer played his part winningly; Kurt Russell is always good in a movie, comedy, western, or whatever. This would never be a favorite of mine, though, as I am not a western fan especially. But for those who like this sort of plot, it seemed like one they would enjoy.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Tombstone
After success cleaning up Dodge City, Wyatt Earp moves to Tombstone, Arizona, and wishes to get rich in obscurity. He meets his brothers there, as well as his old friend Doc Holliday. A band of outlaws that call themselves The Cowboys are causing problems in the region with various acts of random violence, and inevitably come into confrontation with Holliday and the Earps, which leads to a shoot-out at the OK Corral. A powerful cast is essential for a great Western, and you couldn't find a better group of ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Western
This is a great western about Wyatt Earp, his brothers, and Doc Holiday. This has to be one of the best 90's westerns that was released, behind Unforgiven of course.
