We decided to use this book based on the recommendations of several friends and confidants. However, we were sorely disappointed. The book is extremely superficial in it's approach to marriage. The book's main point seems to be "pray about everything and you'll be just fine" when even the Bible doesn't say that. My husband and I use this book in pre-marital counseling sessions. We have found it to be very useful for starting discussions that are essential for couples to consider as they plan a life together. The author is very thorough in his approach and topic selections. I would recommend this book to anyone who is considering marriage and wants the marriage to last.

As a pastor, I have used this book for a number of couples in their pre-marriage counseling. The format is a bit unorganized (hence the 4 stars). It gets worse when you try to use the study guide with the book. Trying to coordinate the book and the study guide and trying to figure out when to do the special projects can take some time to figure out. But the content is good and worthwhile. I don't know of anything better at the moment.

As a pastor, my wife and I use this series all the time. It is an outstanding product for preparing couples for marriage. Very easy to use and thorough. It will take time and effort to complete, but when divorce rate is over 50%, the time is well worth it for a "forever" marriage.

This book encourages you to have conversations and ask questions that you may not think of asking, it truly helps to get to know the person you plan on spending the rest of your life with, and helps prepare for what comes after the honeymoon has passed. It's great and I definitely recommend it to anyone who is ready for the next step in their relationship.
