I gave copies of this book to my direct-reports and they all agreed that it was an extremely inspiring and useful tool for their leadership skills. Lincoln was certainly "baptized in fire" as a leader - he did not actually have much experience but gained it instantly. His thoughtfulness, transparency and honesty were the foundation for his leadership abilities, but his personality was what put it all together.
