Product Description: Two cats are better than one...
First in an adorable new series!
A deceased uncle and a surprising inheritance propel a woman and her two very curious cats into the mystery surrounding his death.
An investigation that starts amid the curios and novelties of a San Francisco antiques shop follows a twisted trail of dangerous deception that leads all the way back to the days of the Gold Rush itself.

I totally enjoyed this book. I don't read a book for the mystery so much. I read a book because I like the locale, the story line, and most of all the characters and this book delivered all for me. I like the cats and its nice that they are a bit far-fetched and not bland or ordinary, as real everyday cats are. I have 4 real cats and its fun to read about kitties that are a bit more evolved.
The writer has an interesting premise and the characters are sufficiently interesting and ... Read More

This book was hard to follow and the ending was terrible. Also, anyone who has cats will find this book very unrealistic.

I purchased this book in the San Francisco International Airport. I was on my way from my home in far northern rural California to the Reno International Airport and then on, by car, to Sierra County, California- Gold Rush territory! I've read the reviews and comments here and I have to agree with most of the criticism of this book. It is horribly overwritten. The author has obviously never met an adjective or an adverb that she didn't like and never uses one when three or four will suffice. Some are also mis-used. The book would be much more enjoyable if the verbiage were reduced considerably (note to author - if you are being paid by the word, then perhaps a bit more plot exposition could be substituted for the excessive verbiage). ... There were certainly parts of this book that I enjoyed. As a cat owner, I agree that the cats are a little far-fetched, but then again, is reality based kitties really the point of this mystery? I think not - but then again, in the end, I don't know where the author was heading with the book. I'd just be getting interested and then - wham - it seemed like the author was having a drug flashback or something because she would slide off into something that had no relevance to the book and which were, frankly ...
