Product Description:
For two-semester or three-quarter courses in General Chemistry.
The author’s goal in writing this book is to deliver the depth of coverage faculty want with the accessibility and clarity that students need for success. Nivaldo J. Tro’s Chemistry: A Molecular Approach explains difficult chemical concepts in a concise and clear student-centered manner while also providing faculty with the flexibility to go more deeply into many key, often neglected topics, such as electron diffraction, molecular orbital theory, and free-energy changes under non-standard conditions. Chemistry is presented visually throughmulti-level images (macroscopic, molecular and symbolic representations), which helps students see the connections among the formulas (symbolic), the world around them (macroscopic), and the atoms and molecules that make up the world (molecular). Every aspect of this book focuses students on recognizing that the behavior of matter is based on the behavior of atoms and molecules.

This textbook is FANTASTIC! My favorite feature in this textbook are the examples. Each example is written step by step with instructions on one side, with the problem worked out next to it. After each example is a practice problem which enables the student to reinforce the new techniques using a similar problem. I had a very enthusiastic professor for Chemistry, who had difficulty communicating the subject as English was not her primary language....this being said, this textbook made it easy for ... Better than most Chemistry books but the price tag is ridiculous. The inforamtion contained in an intro Chemistry book hasn't changed much over the last few decades. So, why is it necessary to put a new edition out every year that is $20 more than the previous? (Besides the money making aspect.) Good book but if you don't need this particular book, just get an older one for ten bucks and eek your way through the semester.

Excellent book, service, timely shipping, and of course PRICE!!! I definitely recommend Amazon to anyone in search of textbooks for college. Mine came in perfect condition, just as I ordered and I am extremely happy that it came even before the estimated arrival date. I am always satisfied with you guys. This book was also sold for an extremely fair price, especially since it was hardcover and brand new/never used.
Try Amazon the next time you need to order textbooks. It is much cheaper ... Read More

I have found that this book wastes no time in getting "down and dirty", this book is for the serious beginning chemistry student. The book is well organized, the questions are thorough and follow logically, I have found only one or two typos since I first bought it (in book terms this is excellent), It goes into detail yet is condensed enough that less useful details are omitted, and beyond all that, I must say to the hard work went into this book...it is beautiful, the illustrations are great, and the ...
